The ITEP curriculum merges general education courses with teacher training, enabling students toobtain a degree alongside a teaching license or certification. This programme not only enhances the quality of teacher education but also plays a crucial role in elevating overall educational standards inschools.
Sonapur College plans to launch the four-year Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP) forthe academic year 2025-26, following the Letter of Intent (LOI) received from NCTE. Students whochoose teaching as a career after completing their secondary education will be eligible for this four-year ITEP course. A key benefit of this programme is that it allows students to complete their dualdegree (BA B.Ed and B.Com B.Ed) in four years rather than five, thereby qualifying them for theteaching profession more efficiently.
